JNTU (Jawaharlal Nehru technological University) was originally "The College of Engineering, Vizagpatnam" at the time of its creation in 1946. It is now a vast campus of 110 acres, green with a mango in the rapid development of Port City of Kakinada, East coast of the India peninsula. The College has been admitted by the World Bank through a program called technical education quality program (TEQIP) which Rs.12 crores assistance will be provided. The University was accredited by the National Council of assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of University Grants Commission (UGC) with "A" Grade.
