Yogi Vemana University is a newly established University Kadapa District with West Campus at Idupulapaya. Earlier, he was part of the University of Sri Venkateswara Tirupati. Yogi Vemana University has at present 15 departments offering courses post graduate in 17 disciplines in languages and physical sciences and Bio-Science, Human Resources Management, MBA & MCA and new Sciences as the biotechnology, bioinformatics, geoinformatics and science of the Earth. The University has also introduced five years integrated courses of master's degree in Sciences of the Earth and bioinformatics in the 2007-2008 year.
